Not all medical experts are equal! Some are more qualified than others, some are more specialized, some are more experienced at serving as medical expert witnesses, and some are more effective at communicating and collaborating.
At MRN, we take pride in finding the most qualified medical experts for our clients’ very specific needs. We’ve built a database of more than 3,300 medical experts – across all field and specialties, and we’d be happy to quickly locate and retain the expert you need.
The more closely we can match a medical expert to your exact needs, the better, and we go to great lengths to do this. As part of our medical expert services, we use the criteria listed below.
Medical Specialties
In the quest for the right expert for a particular situation, we start by looking at medical specialties. We have access to medical experts in all specialties, including: emergency medicine, radiology, surgery, cardiology, neurology, infectious disease, OB-GYN, oncology, pain management, and more.
Sub-Specialties And Expertise
Particularly with complex cases, our next step is to find a medical expert who has a sub-specialty and/or a particular expertise. As examples, this could be a pediatric neuroradiologist or a neurosurgeon who specializes in gamma knife procedures.
Work History And Practice Settings
Oftentimes, the medical expert’s work history and practice-setting experience will also influence our decision. Private practice, solo practice, group practice, medical center, hospital setting, urban or rural practice – all of these factor in to our recommendation for a medical expert.
Education, Licensing, And Certifications
Education, licensing, and certifications weigh heavily in our choice of experts. As medicine has become more complex and specialized over the years, this criteria has become more important. The more “expert” someone is today, the more credible and effective they’ll be at delivering expert witness testimony and/or providing other medical expert services.
Communication Skills
In medical experts, we also look for good communicators. They need to be able to effectively communicate – with our clients, with us, and with laypeople who know very little about medicine. The medical experts we choose need to be able to explain the most complicated concepts in the most understandable terms.
